The Abstract Opening

I came across this blogging opportunity while reading Trey Branham's Blog "Building our place in the Sun". I found his Blog as I was looking for vacation places to rent by owner . There was a Caribbean Rental listed on the site located on the little island of Utila. Utila, where is that I wondered? Hum...the bay islands of Honduras.
It turns out to be right next the largest barrier reef in the northern hemisphere. Wow, a Divers dream!

Did I mention that I have been Scuba diving for 39 years? I started diving at one year old...right... how about 13 years old. I learned it through an intensive program at Camp Sea Gull. An Excellent Summer Camp located on the Neuse River, not far from Morehead City, North Carolina. Some people bill them as a sailing camp, but there is oh... so much more. If you can be a counselor or send your kids there,consider yourself lucky. There is no better place to spend your summer during the early years.
As I searched I came across the fore mentioned blog. What Trey was doing, well documented on his blog, intrigued me. This whole ideal of finding a piece of affordable beach front property sounded too good to be true. He has been managing the development and remodeling of his beach front property. He seems to have been quite successful, in spite of the lack things, we take for granted here in the states. I particularly liked the photo of the delivery of wood decking to his neighbor. The wood was delivered by boat and was placed in the water to be scooped up by the owner for the ongoing project.

The Ideal of this Blog is to share my adventure as I try to find my own "Place in the sun" The Pablo Cruise Band could not have stated it better..... "It's time to find your place in the sun...find your place....find your place in the sun"
